How to use Palo Santo essential oils

Palo Santo can be used in two ways. One way is by using the incense, and the other is by using the oils of Palo Santo.

  • In regards to the first method, we use the Palo Santo by burning the wood in a specific way. For this, it is most likely that a candle or a matchstick be used. After igniting the stick of Palo Santo, let the stick burn for a minute or so to make sure the incense has started to flow out. When finished, place the stick in a fireproof bowl of metal, glass or clay. After that, blow out the flame and spread the smoke in places you want the incense to go to.
  • The second method is using the essential oil of Palo Santo. The oil is extracted from the wood through the process of vapor distillation. One of the most noticeable facts about this is that the oil is only extractable from the dead leaves and branches. Therefore, there is no breakage or harming of the trees in any case. This makes the use of essential oil of Palo Santo and Palo Santo itself as incense very sustainable and highly reusable.
