Our face is the first thing that is visible to the outer world. We all in our capacity try to make it look as appealing as possible. This alternatively becomes the reflection of our personality. There are certain basic things that should be kept in mind while we try to make it look good.
Know Your Skin Type
First thing is to know your skin type-dry, normal or oily. Make sure you use the products that suit your skin type. For instance, if your skin type is dry and you use products best suited for oily skin i.e. they are specially formulated (do not contain any extra oils), therefore they are definitely not for your skin which is in dire need of extra oils.
Treat Your Eyes
Eyes are the most important part of one’s face. Healthy, beautiful eyes are the most appealing part of a one’s personality. Tired, puffy eyes look very unappealing. Take cotton balls soaked in refrigerated Aloe Vera gel or rose water. Put them on your eyes for about 15 minutes to half an hour. This is hugely comforting-takes the puffiness right away. Alternatively, you can also keep refrigerated cucumber slices on your eyes. You will surely find them soothing.
Remove Dry Skin
Removing dry, dead skin on a regular basis is very important. This can make your skin look dull and unhealthy. So scrub, at least 2-3 times a week. Scrubbing your face when you have pimples or acne can leave scars. Avoid it.
Do not forget to apply sunblock 20 minutes before you step out in the sun. This protects your skin from any harmful rays of the sun. Remember to reapply after every four hours. Always use a broad spectrum sunblock, the one that protects both from UVA and UVB rays.
Treat Sun Spots
Treat the sunspots (if any). They can make an otherwise beautiful face look older. Amass a face mask combining olive oil, milk and lime juice. Apply it on your face for 15 minutes. Wash it off with only lukewarm water for a youthful glow.
Aloe Vera is a wonder plant. If you have had acne, it can remove the scars very effectively. Take a freshly-cut leaf and cut it in two halves. Apply the inner succulent part on the affected area. You can also use an antibiotic soap after consulting a doctor to treat a particular skin condition.
Reduce Acne Marks
Got some acne marks. You can get rid of them by using rice powder of rice flour in your kitchen. Mix this rice powder with yoghurt. Add a pinch of turmeric powder to the mixture. Use it as a scrub on your face. Do it gently with slow, circular movements. Leave it for a while and then wash it off with soft hands. Never use it on acne, pimples or rashes. You will notice that over a period of time the marks fade away. Sandalwood powder is known for its amazing ability of fading the marks too. Apply a paste of it on your face. If problem aggravates, consult a doctor.
Apply Honey Mask
Apply a honey mask after the shower. Leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and then using a wet washcloth, remove the honey. Honey works well on the acne due to the antioxidants present in it. Honey also makes your skin softer.
